ICSI and Male Infertility: Treatment Options at Enjab Medical Centre

Both partners are affected by infertility, and 50% of cases of infertility are due to male factors, including low sperm count, poor sperm motility, and blockages. At Enjab Medical Centre, male infertility problems can be overcome with ICSI, an advanced form of IVF. ICSI is a procedure whereby a healthy sperm is inserted into an egg, and this procedure has been proven to overcome barriers to fertilization, leading to a higher rate of success for couples who would have failed to conceive with IVF. In fact, studies have proven that ICSI is more effective than IVF for male infertility problems.

How ICSI Works

At Enjab, we have a team of experts in the field of reproduction, equipped with the latest technology in micromanipulation. In the IVF cycle, after egg collection, embryologists will choose the best motile sperm.

The egg will then be held in place using a glass pipette, and a needle will then insert a single sperm into the egg’s cytoplasm. This process guarantees fertilization of the egg, irrespective of the quality of the sperm.

The development of the embryo will then take place, and the healthiest will then be returned to the uterus.

ICSI at Enjab comes with a series of diagnostic procedures, such as semen analysis, genetic testing of male factors such as the presence of the Y chromosome microdeletions, and hormonal testing.

ICSI at Enjab will then be performed by either Dr. Mamdouh or Prof. Moawad, depending on the condition of the patient. In some cases, if the patient does not have any sperm in the ejaculate, a surgical procedure will be performed to obtain the sperm, and ICSI will then be performed immediately.

Comprehensive Fertility Solutions

What sets us apart is that we do not only focus on the process. We also offer:

Expert Consultation: Dr. Shereen Mamdouh and Prof. Ashraf Moawad personally discuss male fertility cases with couples, taking into consideration their history and lifestyle factors.

High-Tech Lab: We use strict protocols in our state-of-the-art IVF lab to achieve high fertilization success rates. With ICSI, we, along with other fertility centers, are able to achieve fertilization in 70–85% of eggs.

Supportive Environment: We are also sensitive to cultural factors, providing a comfortable setting for male examinations. We also offer counseling for couples who are struggling with emotional aspects of infertility.

In addition to ICSI, we also offer other fertility treatments such as hormone therapy or antioxidant therapy for men, as well as corrective surgery for men with varicocele. We also treat female factors simultaneously to increase overall success rates.

Experts in fertility treatments say that ICSI has helped couples become parents who would not have been able to do so otherwise. According to Cleveland Clinic, ICSI “is especially helpful when there’s an issue with male infertility.”

We at Enjab have also helped numerous couples become pregnant with ICSI, with the expert assistance of our OBGYN consultants.

With ICSI and Enjab’s comprehensive treatment, male infertility is now a problem of the past.

Couples in Sharjah and across the region rely on Enjab’s IVF specialists for the latest treatments for male infertility. Enjab’s international accreditation and expertise (like Prof. Dr. Ashraf Moawad and Dr. Shereen Mamdouh) make us one of the top choices for treating male infertility in the UAE.
